These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the mfgiq website and its free tools, comparisons, material and process libraries, and guides (together, the "Site"). By accessing or using the Site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

Acceptance of terms

By browsing the Site, using any calculator or selector tool, or relying on any comparison or guide, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms. We may update them from time to time; your continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

Permitted use of the tools and content

mfgiq provides its tools and content free of charge for general informational and educational purposes. You may use them to research and plan manufacturing decisions and to inform discussions with engineers and suppliers. You agree not to:

• Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these Terms;
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, scrape at scale, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to the Site or its systems;
• Misrepresent our content as your own or strip attribution where it is provided;
• Use the Site in any way that infringes the rights of others.

Estimates and data are indicative only

This is the most important part of these Terms. All tools, calculators, selectors, cost and weight estimates, material and process properties, machinability ratings, and comparison data on mfgiq are indicative and provided for general guidance only. They are simplified models and reference figures, not engineering certifications, and real-world results vary with grade, supplier, geometry, tolerances, condition, equipment and many other factors.

You must independently verify any figure, recommendation or comparison with a qualified engineer, the relevant material datasheets and applicable standards before relying on it for design, procurement or production. Do not use any output from this Site as the sole basis for a production, safety-critical or commercial decision. mfgiq does not provide professional engineering advice through the Site, and using the tools does not create a professional or advisory relationship.

No warranty

The Site and all content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any content, figure or estimate is accurate, current or complete.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, mfgiq and its operators will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special or exemplary damages — including lost profits, scrapped parts, project delays, or costs arising from reliance on any tool output, estimate, comparison or guide — whether based on contract, tort or otherwise, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Your use of the Site and any reliance on its content is at your own risk.

Intellectual property

The Site, including its text, tools, layouts, graphics, logos and the selection and arrangement of content, is owned by or licensed to mfgiq and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may view and reference the content for your own internal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, republish, redistribute or build a competing product from substantial portions of the Site without our prior written permission. Trademarks, material grade names and brand names referenced on the Site remain the property of their respective owners and are used for identification only.
